Muzaffar A. Shaikh, Ph.D.

Muzaffar A. Shaikh is currently Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Florida Institute of Technology. He retired in July 2018 as Associate Provost of Industry Partnerships, Associate Vice President of International Partnerships, and a Distinguished Professor of Systems Engineering. He is one of the Board Advisor for NamoTech Solution to help the NamoTech business grow from a 360 degree perspective.

Dr. Shaikh served over 52 years in the American workforce - 19 years as direct corporate employee, 27 years as direct corporate consultant, and 31 years at the university. His consulting effort was simultaneous with his university assignments.

Broad-level Expertise: Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Data Analysis, and Optimization.

Dr. Shaikh has authored /co-authored over 100 articles in journals and conference proceedings including a textbook. He has supervised 13 Ph.D. dissertation and 4 M.S. theses students. He has served on a total of 112 Ph.D. committees and 152 M.S. committees.

1. Appointed by the Hon. U.S. Commerce Secretary, Donald Evans to the U.S. Race and Ethnic Advisory Committee (2003-2005)
2. Recipient of the Best Faculty Award, given by FIT International Student and Scholar Services (2018)
3. Recipient of the Dr. Andrew A. Revay University Award for Service (2014)
4. Recipient of three President’s Award for University Excellence (2003, 2004, 2005)
5. Recipient of the First Walter M. Nunn, College of Engineering Teacher of the Year Award (2002)
6. Recipient of the Kerry Bruce Clarke FIT Teacher of the Year Award (2002)
7. Recipient of the Provost’s Academic Leadership Award (2005)
8. Recipient of the Outstanding Teacher award by the School of Business (1991)
9. Recipient of the School of Business Teacher of the Year Award (1995)
